Over the last few weeks we continued to speak with Technology Partners across the world to refine our collaboration approach. How do we best complement each other to provide the best possible tools for our many developers? We agree that for starters, we should do a better job to present the latest and greatest in our offerings. Berlin 10.1 provides many enhancements to make cross-platform development easy and efficient. One exciting area of development was GetIt, which improves our ability to deliver components within the IDE. (It also makes the install easier, which we may have mentioned a few times.) We are currently working on a batch of components and offers to increase the number of items available in GetIt. These become available immediately online. We are launching a monthly GetIt Newsletter in early July to give more visibility into the latest components. This is one more email, but we hope that it is a useful one. While it may not be immediately visible, the marketing team are working hard to develop an email schedule that is a healthy mix of value added and marketing information (yes, there will be some promos in there). I hope that we will be able to provide some new Free Tools, as well. Later on the Roadmap is the ability for partners to self-publish and leverage the infrastructure to support some of their own apps.
The GetIt interest is highlighted by our MVPs as well. We are going to do a deep dive into the Roadmap and opportunities around GetIt on our next meeting later this month. Obviously many MVPs, also develop components, so the interested is well grounded and we hope to produce some good ideas.
We used the NBA's Warriors motto “Strength in Numbers” to create a nice illustration of our vision. Frankly, I am not a huge NBA fan, but I started watching, just because of this reference. So far the Warriors are ahead in the NBA finals 3:2 against Cleveland, so “Collaboration” is winning.
